Few days ago, Yoga Misbar (a yoga in the park Community)
asked me to share things that I have learned at my yoga school. I was so
honored and excited. I came up with the idea of why didn't I share tips about
how to breath properly. Breathing is very essential in every aspects of life. We
may survive days without food but we will never survive a minutes without
bringing the oxygen into all over the body. However most of us still don’t know
yet how to breath properly. We have chance to breathe as much as we want, we just have
no idea how to do it. Ujayyi Breathe is one of the most important breathing exercise that yogi need to have.
Ujayyi breathing is a technique employed in many yoga pracyises. it is also sometimes called as the ocean breathing. in Ujayyi breath we use our diapraghmatic breath, which first fills the lower belly so it will also activate the middle and lower chakra. inhalation and exhalation are both done trough the nose. The ocean sound is created by moving the glottis as air passes in and out.
The benefit of doing Ujayyi Breath is to balancing and to calm breath which increases oxygenation and builds internal body heat. Ujayyi breath will also helpe yogi to regulate blood preasure and bringing the oxygen to all parts of the lungs.
