Proper Breathing


Few days ago, Yoga Misbar (a yoga in the park Community) asked me to share things that I have learned at my yoga school. I was so honored and excited. I came up with the idea of why didn't I share tips about how to breath properly. Breathing is very essential in every aspects of life. We may survive days without food but we will never survive a minutes without bringing the oxygen into all over the body. However most of us still don’t know yet how to breath properly. We have chance to breathe as much as we want, we just have no idea how to do it. Ujayyi Breathe is one of the most important breathing exercise that yogi need to have. 

Ujayyi breathing is a technique employed in many yoga pracyises. it is also sometimes called as the ocean breathing. in Ujayyi breath we use our diapraghmatic breath, which first fills the lower belly so it will also activate the middle and lower chakra. inhalation and exhalation are both done trough the nose. The ocean sound is created by moving the glottis as air passes in and out.


The benefit of doing Ujayyi Breath  is to balancing and to calm breath which increases oxygenation and builds internal body heat. Ujayyi breath will also helpe yogi to regulate blood preasure and bringing the oxygen to all parts of the lungs.

Down To Earth

I have done hundreds of Headstand so far but last night i tried to challenge my self to something more challenging. I do a sets of headstands in variations. I spread my hands wide opened. By doing this pose it gives more chance for me to activate the cores in my body specially upper and middle core. Next to learn will be doing handstand with one hand and then with two hands are lifted.




Yogi on Vacations

Ain't no random GURU

Teacher in Sanskrit divided into two words Gu and Ru which means Dark and Enlightenment. A guru of yoga or yoga instructor should really able to bring the students to something that none other than the correct Asana.  gu as 'darkness' and ru as 'destroyer', thus meaning "one who destroys/dispels darkness"). A guru can't make any assumption or prejudice on students. However most importantly a Guru must comes from a proper related educational institution. WISEYOGA instructor graduates from a very well known and reputable yoga institution in Indonesia.



Utthita Parvakonasana

Parsva means side or Flank, Kona is an angle. This is the extended lateral angle pose. To do this pose yogi should stand in tadasana  (mountain pose) take a deep inhalation and spread the legs apart side ways. Slowly you may turn the right foot sideways in 90 degree facing the right side and left foot slowly to the right. keeping the left leg stretched out and tightened at the knee. Placed your right palm on the floor or just placed it on your right thigh. Bring your left leg up near to your left ear and keep the head up.

Sharing Is Surely Caring

Even though there are no right or wrong in yoga but still there are situations that we should avoid in order to secured our body from injury. It was a great opportunity for me to be able to share whatever I have learned about doing a proper asana to all of my friends on Asana Clinic.
